Charlie's rescue story is one for the books. This beautiful girl just showed up on an elderly lady's property one day — no one knows where she came from, but the lady fell in love with her immediately. After her beloved dog passed away, Charlie became her new companion and source of comfort.

But the lady's family worried that Charlie was too much for her to handle. Her son was going to shoot Charlie — until an animal welfare advocate stepped in and contacted us. Next thing you know, Gareth showed up at home with Charlie as a surprise, and she's been part of Gaia's ever since.

Charlie arrived much smaller than she is now, but despite growing into one of the bigger pigs in her pen, she's remained incredibly gentle and sweet. There's not an aggressive bone in her body — just kindness, playfulness, and a cheeky streak that keeps us entertained.

Her best friend is Picnic, and watching these two cuddle together is one of the sanctuary's most heartwarming sights. Charlie and Picnic are inseparable — napping side by side, wallowing together, living the peaceful life they both deserve.

Charlie is also bonded with Hope's crew, hanging out with Pepper's piglets and fitting seamlessly into the family dynamic. She's gentle with the littles, patient with everyone, and absolutely thriving in sanctuary life.
