Adopt a Rescued Animal

Rehabilitation and rehoming is an essential part of running an animal sanctuary.

Why Adopt an Animal?

Rehabilitation and rehoming is an essential part of our mission at Gaia’s Serenity. Finding safe, loving forever homes for our animals doesn’t just transform their lives — it creates space for us to rescue and rehabilitate more animals in desperate need. Every successful rehoming opens our gates to another soul waiting for their second chance. It’s a beautiful cycle of compassion that allows us to help more animals than we ever could alone.

Adoption FAQ's

What's the difference between adoption and sponsorship?

Adoption means taking an animal home to live with you permanently, providing them with daily care, shelter, and lifelong commitment. Sponsorship means financially supporting an animal who continues to live at Gaia's Serenity under our care. Both are wonderful ways to help, but adoption requires suitable land, facilities, and dedication to hands-on animal care.

What are the requirements to adopt an animal from Gaia's Serenity?

We require adopters to have suitable land and facilities for the specific animal, experience with animal care or a genuine willingness to learn, a commitment to treat animals with respect and compassion (never for breeding, sale, or consumption), and a clean track record. We conduct home visits and thorough vetting to ensure every adoption is the right fit for both you and the animal.

Can I adopt if I've never cared for farm animals before?

Absolutely! While experience is helpful, we value genuine commitment and willingness to learn even more. We'll provide guidance, resources, and ongoing support to help you succeed. What matters most is your dedication to providing a safe, loving forever home and your openness to learning proper care techniques.

Is there an adoption fee?

Yes, adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, vaccinations, desexing (where applicable), and ongoing care the animal has received at the sanctuary. Fees vary depending on the animal and their specific needs. Every dollar goes directly back into rescuing and caring for more animals in need.

What happens after I adopt? Do you provide ongoing support?

Yes! We're here for you and your adopted animal for life. We provide guidance on care, nutrition, and enrichment, and we're always available to answer questions or offer support. We also conduct follow-up visits to ensure both you and your new family member are thriving. Once you adopt from Gaia's, you become part of our extended family.
